Why it's different
Most yarn bowls are decoration with a hole in them.
The slit here is cut on a curve, so the thread feeds under tension instead of jumping free every time you pull a length. The rim is turned and sanded rather than glazed, which is what stops fine wool snagging.
The lid does real work too: two holes hold your needles between rows, and it keeps the ball clean when you put the project down for a week.

What's the difference between the two options?
The bowl option is the wooden bowl and its lid. The set adds the flower-shaped thread cutter — a steel blade in a wooden base with five cutting positions and anti-slip feet. Everything else is identical.
Does it come with yarn?
No. The wool and needles in the photographs are there to show scale and how the slit feeds the thread.
